ACT Government Manipulating the Taxi Market
The facts are simple:
ACT Govermnent is manipulating the taxi market by setting low lease payments when it comes time to leasing ACT government plates. Plate owners have no choice but to accept lower amounts.
We need a commitment for change and it is NOT right for the Government to bundle our issues with taxi operators.
The government should not act as an oppressor when dealing with taxi plate owners.
ACTTPOA will continue to seek justice in this struggle for small business owners and retirees.
It's one thing when nature takes our livelihood, it is another when the government makes unconscionable decisions to punish plate owners. This has nothing to do with market forces

Injustice to plate owners“Implications for assistance ….
The evidence to-date suggests that lease rates on perpetual licences have been maintained
and therefore holders of these licences are no worse off as a result of the reforms.
Consequently, the case for government assistance for perpetual licence holders based on
observed developments to date is weak.”
