TAXI INDUSTRY PLEDGE SIGNATORIES WHO IS FOR US & WHO IS NOT.

A NUMBER OF POLITICIANS HAVE SIGNED A PLEDGE TO SUPPORT THE ACT TAXI INDUSTRY IN ITS FIGHT FOR JUSTICE. THESE ARE DESPERATE TIMES FOR PLATE OWNERS.

ACT TAXI INDUSTRY PLEDGE

I SUPPORT fair and proper compensation for all Taxi Licence Owners who lost the value of their ACT Taxi licences since the ACT Government changed the rules governing the Taxi industry in 2016

Taxi Licence Owners who had stuck to the rules for years, wake up to find their world had changed overnight and that the value of their long term investments in Taxi licences had plummeted.

Many taxi Owners were planning to use the value of their licences to fund their retirement.

I SUPPORT the implementation of a Passenger Service Levy to make sure Taxi Licence Owners receive fair and proper compensation for their losses, for all ACT Taxi Licences.

I SUPPORT a viable, affordable, regulated and reliable Taxi Industry that is available to all passengers in all areas of ACT.

To date, the Taxi Industry can rely on political support primarily from the Liberal Party.

The other political parties are  gradually coming on board with support from the Climate Change …..  and he is to be congratulated.

There is a smattering of support from the Minor Parties and a few people from the ACT Liberal who still retain a conscience.

Those who have signed the pledge to date are listed in the following Political Groups.

If your local member is not on the list, call them or better still, write them a letter or send them a copy of the Pledge and ask them if they are prepared to support our fight for justice.

If they do not answer let Taxi News know – Remember they are obliged to answer written correspondence.

  • For all in the Taxi Industry, it is our future and income at stake.
  • Do not leave it to others.
  • It is time to shout out to the community the government intent to destroy us.
  • Remember, many voices make the loudest noise.
